Asus has introduced a new EeeBox 1012 with a power packed hardware inside for a mini-home theatre system. The EeeBox EB1012 is the successor of EeeBox 1006 from Asus' EeeBox PC family of Nettops and has full high-definition support. However, there is no word on its pricing or availability.

Asus EeeBox 1012 PC is ready for high-definition entertainment with dual-core Intel Atom N330 paired with Nvidia ION MCP7A chipset and graphics. The EeeBox EB1012 comes with Windows Vista Premium pre-loaded. This nettop can hold up to 4GB of DDR2-800MHz RAM and come with 2.5-inch 250GB SATA storage. For Internet connectivity, this EeeBox model has gigabit ethernet and WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) support.

Users can connect this slim nettop to HDTVs with HDMI out port and hook up a 5.1 surround sound system using S/PDIF audio jack.  With Nvidia ION MCP7A graphics inside, this Eee Box is capable of handling 1080p HD content playback with help of dual-core Intel N330 CPU.

Other features include eSATA jack, four USB ports and SDHC media card reader. Asus offers this EeeBox EB1012 in Noble White and Modern Black color. Whenever this EeeBox comes out, it's going to serve as a powerful home theater system that consumes less power and is compact. Of course, it would be priced accordingly.
